In 1834, farmworkers in Tolpuddle, on the south coast of England, tried to organize a union and were deported to Australia for it. A massive, ultimately successful movement grew to bring them home.
My husband & I used to go to Tolpuddle until Covid. He was a descendant of a Martyr. Unfortunately he died last year so there will be no more Tolpuddle for me as to old to drive camper van now. Thank you David.
