Last Thursday, at Secretary of State Antony Blinken's last press conference, journalist Sam Husseini asked such pointed questions that they had to drag him out of the room.
Thank you, beautiful. Grateful to Sam and all those did their part to say no to this horrific slaughter of innocents day and night before our eyes for months! It may look small but it is immense. Reminds me of a commentary on a Quranic story. In the Quran; there is a miracle story in which Prophet Abraham, who challenged idol worship in his society, was thrown into fire as punishment. And God miraculously makes the fire cool and safe for Abraham. In a commentary on this text, they tell of a story of an ant who heard of the big fire and went along with a drop of water. It was asked: "what are you doing? you can't put out the fire with this tiny drop". The ant replies: "this is all I can do and I will do my part and leave the part to God."
When I watched the video of Sam's removal from that press conference, it brought me to tears. The truth of it when he asked, "why aren't you in The Hague?" was a concentration of truth so pure, and which reflected the collective indignation of those who can see the state department's lies, it was impossible for me to do anything but weep. This song truly captures why.
Thanks... and thanks for NOT doing something... thanks for NOT. saying he was 'speaking truth to power'. Both brilliant and brave Sam H and Max were bringing it to all of us and reflecting our outrage. Thanks. Great song.
We need to get Blinken, and the entire Biden administration charged under 18 U.S. Code § 1091, the statute that incorporates the Genocide Convention into US criminal law. Members of this administration shouldn't go a single day without having this statute in their faces, up front and center, at every protest, at every meeting, press conference, briefing, and trips home and abroad. Let them consider what is looming, now, as they are about to leave office. They should have visions of prison all the days of their lives. Let us find the way.
Great song, and it honors someone who has so consistently persevered in asking the tough right questions of those in power. Thank you, Sam, David, Chet.
Thank you
The ballad of the Hannibal directive, thank you Super Husseini for asking the most relevant question.
And thank you Chet, it really deserves.
Love it!

that's a beautiful parable.
Beautiful! We all would do well to remember even the small things add up. ♥

Anthony Stinken is a low-frequency, bile-producing psy op!
Sam, you deserve that ballad!
