Thank you, David, for that careful analysis and response. Yeah, that’s the same reason John Yoo and Jay Bybee used to justify use of torture—if one is not a “state”, or its representative, he is a “terrorist” and has no rights under international law, like the Geneva Conventions. They argue rights under international law apply only to states.

Could be a big reason Israel so opposes a “two-state solution”.

Guantánamo is still open. And Mr. Biden will still hide behind his rhetoric of a possible “two-state solution”, which was part of the UN mandate back in 1947-48, when Israel chose war and mass expulsion of the Palestinian people instead.

They are now, with the complicity of the United States, just finishing up the job, and they want that “ocean-front property” that Jared Kushner plans to develop as soon as they get rid of the animals and clean the place up. They’ll be after the off-shore oil and gas reserves before that.

Happy Easter!

Great song, and I also extend my condolences to everyone in Russia who may have lost someone in the shooting in the Crocus Auditorium. Terrorism is always wrong.

I like the canned accompaniment of your song! Great mixture of live and canned. And your essay is brilliant, as usual. I’ve come to believe that the only realistic solution to the I-P problem is a one-state solution that gives all equal rights, a la South Africa, the US, and many other countries. Yes, so many settler atrocities in all these cases, but turning the clock back doesn’t work, and reality is that the land on Earth is finite, and we have to learn to get along. I believe that the Zionists who rule and populate Israel are not willing to accept this now, but neither were the English or Dutch in South Africa, or the Europeans in America. Let’s move forward, with action by us all to secure peace and security for all those in Palestine. I think it will be a win-win in the long term.
