Countries and their worker populations have been most successful when they’ve built real alternate leadership to the typical “capitalist-democratic” governments around them. Post-WWI Germany seems to be an example. Union-led “self defense” communities (Minneapolis Teamsters Union; UMW in WWII).

Where working people’s experience, talents, and enthusiasm can be called into being as a fresh new force, power emerges.

American workers have long been trapped into the treacherous cage of “our two-party system” and have been force-‘fed the lie that if the “right party” achieves enough power society can run fairly, smoothly. But that’s a lie. The closer the Democrats come to majorities, the more Sinemas and Manchins desert to “the other side of the aisle.”

Only when enough people understand that the main fracture lines of society are by social class (that dangerous teaching called, not Critical Race Theory, but Class Consciousness Theory) can we begin to climb out of the ant lion pit that is American politics.

Glad that Bandcamp reversed its shadow ban on your music, David.
