Thanks David. I've found that nouns (labels) do not help clarify as much as they create divisiveness. Verbs are much more helpful, (let's talk about what behaviors people are doing instead of labeling). We can always have a discussion about changing what we do, ... much more difficult when we get clumped together under a 'heading'. Your piece wonderfully describes all sorts of behaviors that we need to consider changing out for healthier, more caring behaviors, eh?! Thanks for your clarity.

I have pretty much always considered myself a populist, assuming the opposite is elitist. It’s not clear when or why populist became a dirty word. Perhaps it’s a TDS thing, since Trump has been called a populist you have to hate them now. I didn’t vote for Trump, but mostly because of what you say in the first half of your essay, I prefer him to Harris.

It seems pretty apparent that the only reason Trump has been so successful is the Democrats; one could say they put him where he is. Remember many (most?) Republicans were opposed to him.

Thanks for a good essay. I agree with much of it, for a change. (Pun intended.)
