Flying to Europe -- and making a concert video...?
I fly to Copenhagen today to commence a 5-week tour of Denmark, England, Scotland, and Ireland. And on Sunday perhaps we make a concert video, depending...
I head to the Portland airport soon, and by late afternoon tomorrow local time, I’ll be in Copenhagen, and playing the first gig on the tour, at Ungdomshuset, tomorrow evening.
It’s going to be a great tour, with gigs all over Denmark, England, Scotland, and Ireland. I could really use your help in getting the word out, though! Most deeply appreciated are activities like sharing posts (such as the ones pinned to the top of my Facebook and Twitter), sharing gig graphics (a whole series of which appears at davidrovics.com/tour), and taking a moment to click “Invite” on any Facebook Event page (most of the gigs have one) and then inviting all of your “Suggested” friends, which will generally result in anyone you know in the local area where the gig is happening getting an invitation.
Best of all, whether you’re on anti-social media or not, telling folks you may know in a personal message or phone call about a gig happening near them is a wonderful thing to do, and is the single most effective form of promotion, hands down.
This weekend at the Ild i Gilden acoustic music festival in Roskilde a local company is offering to professionally film sets at the festival, with multiple cameras and soundboard recording, but we need to pay for that service if we want to do that. They don’t charge much for their very excellent work, but it’s still beyond my very limited budget for anything like that. If they’re going to film the set, we need to raise at least close to $800 by a deadline of Thursday, 11 am Pacific Time (8 pm in Denmark). Here’s a crowdfunder I set up yesterday. Anyone who donates to it will have access to exclusive digital perks! And the same will apply to anyone who joins or is already a member of my Community-Supported Art program as well.
If you’re somewhere in northern Europe, I hope to see you soon! If you’re somewhere else, keep in touch, I hope to see you in the not-too-distant future as well…!
